Itinerary and highlights
A vibrant, award-winning 85-acre urban green space located along the Ohio River. It serves as a major public gathering place for the city, linking downtown Louisville directly to the riverfront and providing a scenic transition from the urban landscape to nature. Reviewers frequently praise the park for its expansive views, clean facilities, and well-maintained grounds.
The Big Four Bridge is a striking, six-span former railroad truss bridge that stretches across the Ohio River, connecting Louisville, Kentucky (via Waterfront Park) to Jeffersonville, Indiana. Originally completed in 1895 and rebuilt in 1929 to carry heavy freight and passenger trains, the bridge took its name from the defunct Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway—familiarly known as the "Big Four Railroad"
